On land, at sea. And now also in the lakes: the basins of Sardinia's multi-sector water system are the new frontier for the installation of plants for the production of energy from renewable sources. The idea, with questions already filed with the Department of Local Authorities and Enas, is to place floating photovoltaic parks "even of considerable size" on the fresh water surfaces of the island. But the Region stops the game, before it becomes a massacre (of the landscape), and says no: with a resolution of June 22, the Giunta froze all the procedures in progress and established that "the granting of concessions is not permitted". Because "first it is necessary to understand what the advantages are for the Sardinians" says the councilor for public works Pierluigi Saiu, who brought the issue to the attention of the executive.

The requests

The Cixerri Monte Lerno, on the Rio Mannu in Pattada. Artificial basins that private companies wanted to cover with floating photovoltaic systems. Just two examples of a new "assault" in an area that has not yet been regulated, which has convinced the Region to stop bowling.

The resolution

The provision of Villa Devoto also reports the claim of competence over the management of the matter. The authorizations for the plants are state-owned, but the lakes are regional property. And if they really have to be used, the electricity must be destined for ENAS, "engaged in the implementation of a program to enhance its renewable energy production capacity with the aim of achieving self-sufficiency in the medium term".
