Gold and silver jewellery, together with precious stones, with a total market value of 62 thousand euros, were seized by officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency and by the Guardia di Finanza soldiers in the port of Olbia.

On March 8th at 4pm via the Judicial Sales Institute of Sassari, the electronic auction for their sale will be launched with a minimum bid raise of 50 euros.

The sale concerns the second batch of precious items found inside a car of a Pakistani citizen, who was trying to introduce them into Italian territory illegally. The man had shown an import bill and an export invoice which could not be traced back to the goods transported, because they did not correspond in nature, quantity and declared value. Furthermore, they were registered to a person other than the one present on site.

This operation had made it possible to ascertain the evasion of border duties, i.e. duties and VAT, for an amount of 15,500 euros. For convenience, the precious items have been divided into 26 lots; Registration for the race will start on February 5th and will end at 9am on March 8th via the website www.ivgweb.fallcoaste.it .
