They were sailing with the engine idling in an area full of exposed rocks . And when the impact occurred and the small 6.5 meter boat capsized they were inside the small compartment that contains a bathroom and a space to store fishing equipment.

Pietro Satta and Maurizio Rossi, the two men who died during a fishing trip at Isola Rossa, were practically trapped . They had no escape. One of the two also reported a head injury, it is likely that he was unconscious immediately after the accident and that he did not even have the chance to try to save himself.

This morning two divers saw the boat and raised the alarm to the Port Authority of Porto Torres, which intervened with the Coast Guard, assisted by divers from the Fire Department, helicopters from Areus and the Fire Department and the Volunteer Maritime Rescue Corps of Castelsardo. The bodies were recovered by divers from Cagliari.
