The investigation into the death of Ignazio Melis, the elderly former breeder, found lifeless on February 22 in his home in Ballao, would be at a crossroads.

The investigations of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Cagliari have been going on for eight months. The first hypothesis of domestic misfortune immediately gave way to that of the crime.

The investigators, led by the public prosecutor Rossana Allieri, have reconstructed the victim's life and habits, becoming aware of "particularly significant" circumstances which, combined with the numerous testimonies collected in recent months, have made it possible to circumscribe the investigations on some people.

During the inspections carried out at the Melis home, traces and objects considered "very interesting" were found and for which in-depth studies are being carried out which are providing results considered "significant".

The Public Prosecutor's Office, considering the delicacy of the investigations, however, does not leak any rumors.
