The minority council has launched a new attack against the center-right Oristano, accusing it of displaying a "schizophrenic" attitude in its handling of the latest City Council meetings. Hastily convened for August 21st and 22nd, with the sole purpose of replacing Gianfranco Licheri—who had been appointed councilor—and allowing his successor, Giulia Solinas, to vote in the September provincial elections, the meetings were canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled date and rescheduled for September 2nd, 4th, 9th, and 11th. The resounding backtracking was prompted by the attack by five councilors from Forza Italia and Oristano al Centro, who even raised the risk of financial damage.

The minority did not spare harsh words. In a joint statement, the Democratic Party, Sinistra Futura, Oristano Democratica e Possibile, and Alternativa Sarda-Progetto Sardegna expressed "deep dismay and concern at yet another example of confusion and lack of clarity demonstrated by the majority and Mayor Massimiliano Sanna."

According to the opposition groups, the decision to convene two extraordinary sessions in August for an issue deemed far from urgent "was immediately perceived as a senseless act, postponed to future city council meetings with more substantial topics." Only to then witness what has been branded "a sensational U-turn that confirms the profound internal rift within the majority and its inability to act cohesively and competently."

Harsh words, accompanied by a warning: "An administration that is incapable of making shared decisions and so blatantly contradicts itself cannot guarantee the stability and seriousness needed to govern a city."
