After the stop linked to the pandemic, the Christmas markets return to Cagliari: from Wednesday 1 December wooden houses with typical products, entertainment and music to breathe the air of the holidays.

An initiative - underlined the mayor Paolo Truzzu and the councilor for Commerce Alessandro Sorgia - dedicated above all to children. "A sign of a return to normality - explains Truzzu - to allow us to recover what we have lost this year".

"It is important - said Sorgia - to give a breath of fresh air to an economic fabric that has suffered greatly".

It begins on the first day of December with the opening of 30 houses in Corso Vittorio Emanuele and 13 in Piazza Yenne. "Ready to respect rules and precautions related to Covid" said Emanuele Frongia, Piazza Yenne association, which promises "several surprises".

Among the items for sale typical Sardinian sweets, bread, panettone, pasta, cold cuts, craft beers, wines. Space also for Christmas decorations and handcrafted creations.

On the other hand, a small house will become an "info-point" on initiatives dedicated to Christmas, and three others will become small branches of Santa's elves.

The presence of a piano in Piazza Yenne has also been confirmed for this edition. A large Christmas tree will also be set up in the course.

During the 39 opening days there will be events and appointments dedicated to children.
