He passed away in front of his parents, where he had arrived with them for the holidays. First, abnormal heart rate, then cardiac arrest, and finally death despite all desperate attempts at resuscitation. Thus ended the life of a nine-year-old Norwegian boy, inside a resort on the Santa Teresa Gallura coast, in a section of the complex near the small Licciola beach. The tragedy occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m. yesterday in a complex in Valle dell'Erica. Emergency personnel, an ambulance, and the crew of a helicopter rescue service, along with Carabinieri from the Santa Teresa Gallura station, responded to the scene. Unfortunately, all efforts were in vain for the child; the illness that struck him proved fatal.

Shocked parents

The young victim's father and mother, shocked and devastated, were treated by doctors and witnessed the ordeal in all its stages. The other key player in yesterday morning's events was a doctor, affiliated with the resort where the child was staying, who did everything possible to save the child. The Tempio Prosecutor's Office has opened a confidential case. The investigation, against unknown persons, is being coordinated by Public Prosecutor Sara Martino.

Feeling unwell for days

The first step in the investigation will be the autopsy ordered by prosecutor Martino. The Tempio Prosecutor's Office has gathered the very first information on the tragedy, interviewing the victim's parents, resort staff, and, most importantly, the doctor who provided first aid. According to the little information leaking out from the judicial offices, the child had been ill for days, likely since the departure from Oslo on July 2nd. General malaise and a stomachache are reported. Rumors also suggest that the resort doctor was informed of the child's condition and carefully performed a series of tests, all of which were negative.
