In Siamaggiore, preparations are in full swing for the Artichoke Festival , a typical product of the town that is starting to arrive on the tables in this period. The event, promoted by the Municipality with the support of the Fondazione di Sardegna and the Region and the organizational coordination of the Association of Local Authorities for cultural and entertainment activities, will be held on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November. "After the postponement last March, due to the sad mourning that struck our community, this year the traditional festival will be held in autumn and without a doubt we want to dedicate it to Pietro - says Mayor Davide Dessì - The atypical period will be an opportunity to taste the first fruits, the first cut of the vegetable, which we aim to enhance also with the in-depth and study conference, involving first and foremost the Rural District to which the Municipality of Siamaggiore belongs. The focus on the commercial network aims to develop dialogue and encourage the strengthening of synergies between small producers, thus giving even more value to the offer".
Pietro Nicolai was the municipal policeman who died after falling from a tree. "This year the Expo Produttori route is changing, to enhance the greenest area of the town, between the two churches, the one in the city center and the rural one - adds the mayor - Once again we are proud of the presence of a highly appreciated chef like Renzo Corona and we are giving even more space to music, with many hours of entertainment to ensure maximum involvement of the visitors who choose to stay with us".
The intense two-day event will open with a conference entitled “The artichoke in the network: how collaboration between companies generates value and opportunities”. Institutions, local companies and local associations will participate on Saturday at 4 pm in the Council Chamber of the Municipality. At the same time, with an encore the following day, the cultural walks will also begin. On Saturday and Sunday, Piazza Asilo and the city streets will nourish the flavors of tradition, with the promotion and sale of the Sardinian spiny artichoke and other local products. The free and open to all photography competition Sei brutto... come un carciofo (You're ugly... like an artichoke) is renewed - in its third edition -, with participants called to represent the vegetable in an artistic way, through a shot. The winner will be announced and the awards will be given on Sunday evening. The entire event will be accompanied by music and entertainment.
