"We have recovered resources for the construction of the Sports Hall, the continuation of work in the Anelli park and a broader redevelopment of the Sant'Elia neighborhood. Work on the new stadium is also continuing." The announcement was made by the mayor of Cagliari, Massimo Zedda, anticipating news related to the multifunctional facility that will be built where the Cuore parking lot is now, while for the Cagliari Calcio parking lot - after last week's discussions - the green light is awaited to begin the demolition of the Sant'Elia. But cleaning and safety work is also on the horizon for the Amphitheater, which will thus be able to reopen: "It will be, once again, a place of entertainment and culture," Zedda declares.
"In these weeks," the mayor points out, "we are dealing with the latest budget changes for interventions related to urban decorum, road safety and development. A joint effort between the Executive, the Municipality services and the entire City Council . We have allocated resources to mitigate the hydrogeological risk in via Campeda, the redevelopment of piazza Granatieri di Sardegna in Is Mirrionis, and the external space of the complex in via Premuda (former nursery school), the completion of work at villa Muscas, the maintenance of the Auditorium in piazza Dettori."
Zedda also provides updates on cemeteries: « Bonaria , once the safety measures are completed, will become a monumental urban park, combining a commemorative function with a cultural one. Inside the cemetery of San Michele, the chapel will be restored so it can be used for funerals. In the cemetery of Pirri, an expansion will be carried out. The administration is committed to allocating additional resources to carry out shared projects, in the interest of the city».
