Teulada, hunter killed by a gunshot during a hunt
Massimiliano Sabiu, 59 years old, shot by mistake by a companion who shot when he saw something moving in the bush: he thought it was a wild boar
Hit and killed by mistake by a gunshot fired by a hunting companion: this is how Massimiliano Sabiu, 59 years old, from Giba died this afternoon.
The drama took place on the mountains of Is Cannoneris, in the territory of Teulada.
It was around 4.30pm. During a wild boar hunting trip carried out by a company of around 20 participants, DV, 39 years old, accidentally shot and hit Sabiu in the side and shoulder.
The participants immediately ran to the aid of the injured man and called for help. But for the fifty-nine year old there was nothing to be done: the bullet caused him lethal wounds, with hemorrhagic shock and damage to his internal organs.
The intervention of the 118 doctors was useless. The police are investigating: the weapon has been seized.
According to an initial reconstruction of the accident, the hunter who accidentally hit the victim in the vegetation saw something move. He thought it was a wild boar and fired the fatal shot.
Another accident occurred in the afternoon: a twenty-four year old was found unconscious at the bottom of a gully. He too was engaged in wild boar hunting.
