There are four offers, two from Ita and two from Aeroitalia , which arrived after the opening of the envelopes for connections in territorial continuity between Alghero and Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate . The reference period is the one that will go from 29 October next to 26 October 2024.

«With the tender for Alghero», explains the regional councilor for Transport, Antonio Moro, «we are making the air transport system safe as regards public service obligations for Sardinia. We have thus maintained our commitment with Alghero, with the territory, with the whole of Sardinia. I have no memories of tenders», he continues, «which ended four months before the expiry of the public service obligations. Now we will work even harder to complete the tools available to the Region to guarantee an air connection service that meets the expectations of the Sardinians ».

Once the envelopes have been opened, the moment of the award arrives: the commission will check the documentation presented to examine the technical offers and evaluate the economic ones . An award that will in any case be provisional, because until 27 September a community carrier could always decide to operate the routes without exclusivity or compensation.

" We want to create a new Sardinian model of air transport ", added Moro, "which is made up of three fundamental elements, starting with the central one of public service obligations , i.e. territorial continuity as we have known it up to now, with resident fares, pre-established frequencies, pre-established time slots for connections to and from the three Sardinian airports with Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate. To these we want to add», concludes the exponent of the council Solinas, « direct aid to carriers for the reduction of airport tariffs, for the opening of new routes to Sardinia, for which we have approved a specific bill and which is already being examined by the competent commission, and the experimentation of so-called social aid which takes the form of a direct contribution to the passenger to reduce the cost of the plane ticket».
