Starting today, tickets for the new category of relatives of residents are officially on sale . Sardinia, through its public service obligations system, formally recognizes the family members of residents as beneficiaries, extending the right to mobility to those who maintain a stable and deep connection with the island.

Discounted tickets are already available for purchase for flights starting March 29 , the start date of the new territorial continuity system.

According to the new regulations, " first, second, and third-degree relatives of Sardinian residents will be able to travel at a discounted rate, for a slight surcharge on the resident rate and with a guaranteed maximum rate," the Sardinia Region specifies.

" First-degree relatives include children and parents; second-degree relatives include brothers, sisters, grandparents, and grandchildren, i.e., children of children; third-degree relatives include uncles, aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews. Persons who are married or related to the beneficiaries of the benefit are also eligible for the reduced rate ."

"We have extended the rights of territorial continuity to those with a strong, stable, and documentable connection to Sardinia. This is a step forward toward more equitable mobility, one that is more in tune with the social reality of our community," said Councilor Barbara Manca.
