The indictment is two pages long, the charges are very serious . A soldier of the Arma , 45 years old, from Rome, for 12 years had to defend himself from defamatory accusations . The Tempio Prosecutor's Office accused him of having raped his wife and of having sexually abused her on several occasions.
From 2008 to 2013, the carabiniere allegedly transformed his partner's life into an unbearable sequence of physical and moral harassment. Accusations that have all turned out to be unfounded.
The soldier cried several times during the last hearings of the trial which ended on Wednesday evening with his acquittal because the fact did not exist .
The judges of the Tempio Tribunal accepted the thesis of the defender Renato Borzone, but also the prosecutor Noemi Mancini concluded her closing speech by asking for the acquittal of the soldier. Some of the episodes indicated in the indictment were apparently invented from scratch.
The violence , according to the initial thesis of the Tempio Prosecutor's Office, occurred in a town in Lazio and in Gallura, but there was no evidence of it . The carabiniere was also accused of having beaten his partner's parents.
During the trial it emerged that the photos of the wounds and traumas shown by the woman to accuse her husband were images of simulated injuries created in the make-up room during an acting course (paid for by the military).
