Music and words to focus the attention of institutions and citizens on the theme of the repopulation of Sardinian municipalities and the fight against the decline in residents .
The whole of Sardinia has lost 85,000 residents in the last decade and about thirty villages are destined to disappear in the next 40/60 years . The Maria Carta Foundation's Freemmos project resumes its tour of the island and arrives in Sassari: Friday 24 February concert at 8 pm in the Sala Sassu of the “Luigi Canepa” music conservatory, in collaboration with the musical institution and the patronage of the Municipality of Sassari.
After the initial greetings, the project will come alive with the presentation and two videos will be screened : the documentary film on the initiatives promoted within Freemmos from 2017 to today, in various locations in Sardinia and also on the peninsula, and the short made by “Paco Mustela” theater company with the reading of some poems taken from the collection “Canto Rituale” by Maria Carta.
In the second part, space for music, with the students of the Conservatory and the guests, the Tazendas, Maria Giovanna Cherchi and the Fantafolk duo (Andrea Pisu, launeddas, and Vanni Masala, accordion).
The evening will be presented and coordinated by the journalist Giacomo Serreli .
