Prospecting to be the best season ever, Summer 2026 takes off on March 29. With a total capacity of 4.8 million seats, a 7.2 percent increase over the previous summer, the Costa Smeralda-SA Principe Karim Aga Khan IV schedule includes a network of 134 connections, serving 87 destinations, including 66 international and 21 domestic, operated by 40 airlines to and from 24 countries. The highlight of Summer 2026 at Olbia Airport is the new transatlantic connection to New York, operated by Delta Air Lines: starting May 21, with four weekly flights, Sardinia will be connected to the United States for the first time with a direct flight. In terms of new routes, six new scheduled flights were launched this season: Volotea added Seville, Transavia launched Eindhoven, Eurowings launched two new flights to Berlin and Graz, and BA CityFlier (a subsidiary of British Airways) launched London Stansted. All major partner carriers confirmed and expanded their schedules. A particularly significant sign of this was the month of April, with a 10% increase in flight availability compared to April 2025: the summer season is structurally extending into spring and autumn. Ryanair will launch flights to Krakow as early as mid-March, while Lufthansa is bringing forward flights to Munich and Frankfurt. EasyJet also significantly advanced its operations, operating five more routes than last April—Edinburgh, Bordeaux, Lyon, Nice, and Nantes—SAS to Copenhagen, Wizz Air to Warsaw, and Ryanair to Dublin and Vienna.
