The history, even very ancient, of Sulcis Iglesiente in school books? Almost a perfect stranger. As on the other hand it often happens also for the history of Sardinia. The teachers of all the schools of Carbonia and of the territory have ascertained this, trying to remedy it, and today they have decided to implement a singular initiative thanks to the Simuc city museum system: they are carefully visiting the museums and the historical-archaeological sites- cultural heritage of Carbonia and then try to integrate, in the relationship with their students, the many shortcomings of which Sulcis Iglesiente is "victim" in the most important school texts.
"There are missing - analyzes Simona Basciu , a teacher of history and literature at the Angioy high school in Carbonia - moments of study on the prehistory of our territory: shortcomings also in books, but we are ready in our small way to fill this gap". From the paleontological to the pre-Nuragic necropolis of Cannas, from the archaeological museum to the Phoenician citadel of Monte Sirai: "We need to build ad hoc materials - explains Andrea Corrias , teachers at the Beccaria technical institute - for the future of our territory: unfortunately the official books often do not they arrive and then this construction starts from the bottom, it starts from us ".
Annamaria Carboni, a teacher at elementary school in Cortoghiana is also a sort of self-criticism: "Sometimes we teachers need to be more prepared about the history of the territory: only in this way can we allow the leap in quality so that Sulcis does not continue to be unfortunately totally absent. from didactic texts ".
