The inaugural concert of the academic year at the Luigi Canepa Conservatory will be repeated in Tempio Pausania . After the evening in Sassari , the event will be repeated on Sunday at 6:00 pm at the Teatro del Carmine , with free admission. The program, artistic direction, and orchestral lineup will remain intact.
The protagonists of the evening were the symphony orchestra of the “Luigi Canepa” Conservatory of Sassari , made up of around 60 musicians including students , teachers and former students and conducted by Andrea Barizza on the notes of Johannes Brahms and Ludwig van Beethoven.
The concert features two masterpieces from the great European symphonic repertoire : Brahms's Overture to an Academic Festival, Op. 80, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67. Making the Tempio stage even more significant is the institutional collaboration between the Municipality of Tempio Pausania and the "Luigi Canepa" Conservatory, already active through an agreement with the Scuola Civica di Musica. This is not a formal collaboration, but rather a concrete educational and cultural project, combining basic training, orientation towards preparatory and academic programs, shared artistic planning, and the development of opportunities for young people in the area.
From this perspective, the concert is also a visible sign of a partnership that produces real results . The presence of the Sassari Conservatory in Tempio fits perfectly with the vision expressed by the new director of the "Luigi Canepa" Andrea Ivaldi, who explains: "Our mission is also to spread culture and art; all concerts are free."
