Student houses and canteens in Cagliari, a lame start
Waiting for the opening of the accommodations in via Businco and via Biasi. And at the moment there is only one refreshment point activeNot only the Emilio Lussu Campus in Viale La Plaia: by the end of 2024 Ersu plans to make available the beds - 130 in total - of the student residences in Via Businco and Via Biasi. The opening is scheduled for December, but could also happen earlier to coincide with the start of teaching activities . The progress of the work is part of the complete renovation, underway, of all the buildings of the Institution: a project that also includes the canteens, which in turn are currently open on a reduced basis with only one available.
"Much will depend not so much on the completion of the work in progress", the words of Raffaele Sundas, general manager of Ersu, on the opening of via Businco and via Biasi. "But, above all, on the actual availability of regional funding for their management. We remain confident because the collaboration with the Education and Programming departments is excellent. Ersu has found great interest from the Council in wanting to unblock the situation as soon as possible ".
Canteen case. To date, only one university canteen is open in all of Cagliari: the one in Piazza Michelangelo. The one in Via Premuda is scheduled to reopen in October, where the work has been completed and only a few details remain . In Via Trentino, the closure should be temporary: "I was informed that it will remain closed for a few days, because it was necessary to carry out a disinfestation", announces Francesco Piseddu, member of the Ersu Board of Directors.
For the University Campus, the times will be slightly longer: « It is planned for the beginning of the new academic year », adds Piseddu. «I had asked, during the previous meetings of the Board of Directors, if it would be possible to open it in October as for via Premuda. At the moment, I am convinced that the necessary tests will still take some time, and that at least for the first weeks of October we will continue with the delivery service, a "stopgap" solution that has shown many limitations since the first moment it was adopted».
