Severe weather, with waves over four meters high and gale-force winds, is severely impacting maritime connections between the northwestern port and the rest of the Italian peninsula. The port of Porto Torres remains deserted due to strong winds, with gusts reaching peaks of about 50 kilometers per hour, according to data provided by the Port Authority, severely impacting seafarers' activities.
After six days without Tirrenia and Moby ferries operating on the Genoa-Porto Torres route, the Moby Aky returned to port yesterday, heading to the Ligurian port. Today, Thursday, February 18th, the same ferry was diverted to Olbia. Tomorrow, Friday, February 20th, the Moby ship will once again alter its route due to adverse weather and sea conditions, skipping the port of Olbia and heading to the Gallura port of Isola Bianca. Only the Grimaldi Cruise ship docked at the dock this morning.
