The Zedda Council declares a state of natural disaster in Cagliari. The decision comes after the storm of September 18 , which caused considerable damage and affected several municipal roads, public and private buildings, especially in Pirri.

The damage assessments are still ongoing, ten days after the heavy rains. With a unanimous vote in favor, the mayor Massimo Zedda and the councilors have decided the state of natural disaster following the damage caused by the bad weather .

On Wednesday 18th, in a few minutes, the downpour hit Cagliari and the municipalities of the hinterland (with damages also to the Elmas airport) also with hail. The data provided by Sardegna Clima recorded over 20 mm of rain .
