«Staff at the end of their strength, worn out by the eight-hour shifts that the Management decided to impose unilaterally, without the topic being discussed with the trade unions as required by current regulations».

The state of unrest is proclaimed by the prison police officers on duty at the Uta prison.

In a joint note, the acronyms Sappe, Osapp, Uil Pa PP, Uspp, Fns Cisl and CNpp put in black and white the daily difficulties faced by the staff: «It certainly doesn't take a magician to understand that having to travel more or less long to return at their homes and after only eight hours having to be back in the Institute to face the next shift, in addition to being mentally and physically tiring, is also putting at great risk the safety of the men and women of the penitentiary police who, in order to reach the work, they drive even in unfavorable conditions."

«The alleged emergency situation imposed by the Management - they add - we do not believe is due to the three or four picketings underway because on other occasions the staff have faced similar situations, even in the middle of the summer period, without the need to resort to drastic decisions and we believe instead that this situation that has arisen is only the result of the managerial and organizational incompetence and incompetence that the undersigned have been denouncing for some time and to which the Management has never found a correct response".

An emergency which, they underline, "was supposed to last only a few days has now lasted for twenty days and not even the management knows when it will end given that from the communications that took place we were reassured that from this weekend we would resume guaranteeing the service on the four quadrants and instead the date scheduled for the end of the emergency has actually slipped to 21 cm".

A demonstration has been organized for Thursday at 10am in the prefecture of Cagliari.
