An accident occurred in the Sorso area , where last night, around 6pm, the team from the Porto Torres detachment intervened to rescue a person who was stuck in a pine tree, at a height of about ten metres.
The man, who was working at height, thinning out the tree, was struck on the back while cutting a branch, leaving him unable to move.
The team, having reached the Lu Tuvaraggiu local road, given the complexity of the situation, requested support from the Alpine Fluvial Speleo group and a ladder truck from the control center.
Initial attempts to approach the scene with the ladder truck failed to rescue the person, given the distance from the road and the uneven terrain . After several unsuccessful attempts, the Drago helicopter carrying emergency medical personnel was requested.
Meanwhile, the approach operations and maneuvers with the ladder truck continued until they managed to get close to the man and place him in the basket. Once he was on the ground, the injured man was transferred by 118 ambulance to the emergency room at Santissima Annunziata Hospital.
The man suffered a lumbar sacral trauma from the blow. The surgery lasted approximately two hours.
