Solinas: «ET in Lula, we are one step away from a great goal. Thanks to the Government"

" The creation of the Einstein Telescope in Lula has become a goal of the whole of Italy ," says Christian Solinas on the sidelines of the conference that took place this morning in Cagliari with the participation of the minister Anna Maria Bernini , the Nobel laureate Giorgio Parisi , the Rectors of the Universities of Cagliari and Sassari and a large delegation of scientists.

"We are intensifying our commitment on all levels, political and scientific, national and local, to support the Italian candidacy", adds the president of the Region, defining today's meeting as "an important step towards the finish line".

ET, continues Solinas, «couldn't find a better place, the characteristics of Sardinia make the island the optimal region for its realization . Scientists and the analyzes carried out by the main observers tell us so ».

Among the characteristics that make Sardinia the ideal place is an «extremely stable» geological structure and «non-existent» seismic activity . Then the rock in the Lula region, made up of «very hard and stable granites, an excellent basis for the construction of underground infrastructures» . Other aspects, «one of the lowest population densities in Europe, therefore very low anthropic noise» .

A project "strategic not only for Italy and Europe, but also for the future development of Sardinia, for its effects on the technological and scientific level and for the economic and employment repercussions ". A project that "for the next 30 years will attract all the scientific communities of the world to the island".

«ET - continues Solinas - will be an extraordinary attraction for a land that in recent years has made high technology and greenery its warhorses, to create and strengthen a new economy that we want to no longer be just for tourism and industry, linked to the economy of the coasts, but which will be able to give back to the inland areas the image of an ecosystem favorable for investments in terms of research, innovation and development".

The governor says "thank you" to the government and now feels this "ambitious" project is "really one step away" .

"Only with the unity of purpose demonstrated up to now, with the decision and firmness that has characterized all our actions, will we be able to bring home this extraordinary victory, for the good of all of Italy", he concludes.
