The historic landline numbers of the twenty-nine emergency medical services in the Nuoro area have permanently ceased to function.

The disconnection will take place next Saturday, August 23, and from that moment, users seeking assistance will have to call 116117, the single European number for non-urgent medical care, a tool adopted to facilitate the population's access to local social and health services.

An operator connected from the AREUS control center in Nuoro will provide assistance and, based on the user's story, will proceed (if necessary) to contact 118 or, more simply, can inform the user of the coverage of the nearest branch.

The launch was made possible thanks to the collaboration between AREUS and the management of ASL 3 Nuoro and the Digital Healthcare and Technological Innovation department of ARES Sardegna.
