Solidarity and ecology, the mobilization of students in Nurri

A double commitment in the areas of solidarity and ecology. Young people mobilize in Nurri. The municipal council of children, together with the Sos association and the municipality, organized a collection of basic necessities for the war-torn Ukraine. In addition, the pupils of the fourth and fifth grades of Primary and the three classes of the Secondary School of the town of Sarcidano were the protagonists of the "Environment Project" created to sensitize children and young people to environmental protection.

In the Minzianni Park, the site chosen for the ecological day, they have planted over 200 seedlings including holm oak, olive, lentisk, strawberry tree, carob, phillyrea, rosemary, helichrysum, myrtle and other Mediterranean species, donated by the Forestas Agency. The park was soon transformed into a cheerful work site, amidst a bustle of young people intent on digging holes, planting trees, asking for advice from forestry operators, municipal workers and teachers. The students acquired valuable information on the planted species also by reading some botanical cards previously prepared in class and reading thoughts on the theme of environmental education. In collaboration with the Municipality and the Isili Forestry, other days to raise awareness of respect for the environment will be organized shortly through the collection of waste in various areas of the territory.
