This was underlined in a note by Councilor Desirè Manca after today's protest by the unions (Cgil, Cisl and Uil) who occupied the council office where the meeting on social safety nets for workers in the Sulcis industrial area was held. «Following the meeting held in the Department of Labor with Minister Calderone on December 9, with certified emails sent to the same minister on December 12, 2024 and January 9, 2025, we not only requested a further meeting, which we reiterate today, but we also asked for certain information regarding the use of state resources to allow the extension of the extraordinary wage integration treatment in favor of companies that operate in complex crisis areas and are waiting for a call for the granting of the shock absorber».

«Although the granting of social safety nets is not the responsibility of the Sardinia Region – continues Manca – but wanting to support the workers, the Todde council has also taken an active part by planning its own resources for two million euros to try to accompany the workers and their families in this phase of uncertainty».
