Plant shutdowns, IGCC restarts, exceedances of the daily flare gas threshold, flare smoke, and other anomalies: Sarlux has sent 19 reports to the Municipality of Sarroch regarding problems at the plant recorded between March and June.

This was announced by the Sarroch civic committee for environmental and health protection, which received a response to a certified email sent on June 2nd requesting " clarification on the visibly high and persistent operation of the plant's flares."

According to the committee, the data "completely changes the picture: we weren't dealing with simple citizen perceptions. The Municipality received official communications from the operator. The high torches, threshold exceedances, shutdowns, and restarts were the subject of recorded technical communications. The Municipality knew. The question is: what did it do?"

The committee claims that the Municipality forwarded the documents but did not explain what it did: "It does not appear to have provided an independent response to the questions posed to the mayor and the municipal administration. The committee's certified email did not simply request documents. It asked the Mayor to clarify: whether he was aware of the high and persistent use of the torches; whether he had reviewed the Sarlux communications; whether the Municipality had requested clarification from the manager; whether ARPAS had been activated; whether the Local Health Authority, Prefecture, Region, or Fire Department had been involved; whether environmental, health, or civil protection assessments had been conducted; whether the public had been informed; and why no public communication to citizens had been made."
