Davide Calvia did not drown .
The autopsy shed light on the death of the 38-year-old involved in the shipwreck off the coast of Asinara on April 12 and found lifeless after 10 days on the coast of Castelsardo.
Fractures of two cervical vertebrae and several ribs caused the death. The death, therefore, is " probably attributable to a great traumatism ", reads the report that the coroner Salvatore Lorenzoni delivered to the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office.
The coroner points out that the victim was wearing a wetsuit and that his body had wounds on the head and face, as well as fractures to two cervical vertebrae and ten ribs , all traumas that the 38-year-old suffered when he was alive . According to Lorenzoni Calvia may have been thrown from the boat ending up on the rocks after a collision, it may also have been overwhelmed by another boat while trying to reach the mainland after the shipwreck. Or, another hypothesis not to be excluded, the most disturbing, he could have been the victim of "violence by third parties" .
The survivor of the shipwreck, Giovannino Pinna, a 35-year-old cousin of the victim, is being investigated for culpable shipwreck, manslaughter and theft of the boat on which the two were. Pinna, who had called for help before abandoning the boat, was found 24 hours after the accident on a small beach in Marina di Sorso, in critical condition.
Interrogated by the prosecutor in the police station of Porto Torres, the 35-year-old, defended by the lawyer Luca Barrocu, had made use of the right not to answer .
