Since March 1st Settimo San Pietro has been without a pediatrician. And the complaints have already arrived. Mayor Gigi Puddu today sent a letter to the Local Health Authority, denouncing the problem and recalling that around 7 thousand inhabitants now reside in the town, with a demographic trend, contrary to what unfortunately happens in the internal areas of our island, which appears to be constantly growing .

«We highlight with extreme concern», we read in the communication, «the discomfort of many resident families due to the absence of pediatricians in our Municipality following the resignation of the health worker who was in the town until last Friday. Over the last year, many families from Settimo San Pietro have managed, with many sacrifices, to face this critical issue by turning to the pediatrician in the nearby municipality of Sinnai, who however announced the transfer to Sestu and Monastir from 1 March 2024".

Mayor Puddu reminds the ASL that «even in the municipalities of Sinnai and Maracalagonis there are no paediatricians available: those present are maximalist or close to retirement. Given the importance of the right to assistance for resident families and in particular for the pediatric population, a timely and concrete intervention is required from the competent authorities in order to eliminate the serious inconvenience for the community of Settimo San Pietro" .
