He is accused of having pocketed a bribe during a meeting in a bar. A bribe requested to facilitate some practices that fall within his sector. For this reason Antonio Fadda, head of the technical office of the Municipality of Sestu, was arrested by the Carabinieri of the investigative unit of Cagliari, with the support of colleagues from the town station.

The handcuffs were snapped on after the meeting in a room inside the Corte del Sole, the place set for the delivery of the money. But Fadda's interlocutor had already turned to the investigators, who organized the trap.

Upstream there is a complex investigative activity started in recent days, following the formal complaint filed by the managers of a company responsible for the construction, in the territory of Sestu, of the first national plant for the production of hydrogen through photovoltaic energy.

Fadda allegedly demanded a sum of cash, divided into two tranches, as compensation to guarantee the rapid definition of the bureaucratic process and the release of some of the authorizations necessary for the continuation of the works.

Having received the complaint, in agreement with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Cagliari, the Carabinieri planned a controlled delivery of the money. At the time of the arrest, the head of the technical office of Sestu was still found in possession of the banknotes, all marked.

The military's activities then continued with thorough searches in the home and in the municipal office: here, computer media such as PCs and telephones were seized. But another sum of money was also found that the carabinieri hypothesize could be linked to a further episode of corruption.

After the formal procedures, Fadda was taken to prison in Uta.
