Violent collision on Provincial Road 2: 44-year-old man from Villaputzu dies, mother and child in critical condition

Fatal accident on Provincial Road 2 near Assemini, a short distance from the wholesale fruit and vegetable market.

The victim was a 44-year-old originally from Villaputzu, Mauro Sanna.

The car in which he was travelling at high speed, perhaps while overtaking, rear-ended another car and crashed into a pole.

Aboard the second car was a woman, a soldier, and her ten-year-old son . Mother and child were transported to Brotzu Hospital with critical condition; the child is not in serious condition.

Emergency medical services, firefighters, and the Cagliari Highway Police arrived on site to conduct legal investigations. The road was closed.
