An accident on the old 131, followed by a fight. Then came a long trail of intimidation, threats, and violence under the pretext of demanding compensation.

The suspects in the case, which ended with the arrests by the Carabinieri in Sestu, are a 25-year-old man from Sulcis and a 50-year-old Serbian, both resident in Sestu, traced to the municipality of Capoterra, and a 19-year-old man from Oristano and resident in Dolianova, located in Fluminimaggiore. All are of Roma ethnicity. Their victim was a Chinese businesswoman, the wife of the driver with whom the 25-year-old in the group had been involved in a car accident in mid-December.

According to investigators' reconstruction, the young man, with the complicity of the other suspects, allegedly carried out a systematic campaign of pressure and threats against the woman, the owner of a business on the old 131. The group allegedly showed up almost daily, using intimidating methods to demand cash as compensation for the damages suffered.

The investigations conducted by the Carabinieri, supported by the analysis of video surveillance systems and the testimonies collected, have allowed them to document the repeated extortions and to hypothesize the responsibilities of the individuals, who are charged, to varying degrees and jointly, with the crimes of threats, aggravated personal injury, private violence, stalking, and attempted extortion.

The three were locked up in prison in Uta.
