The "Stangioni 2024" civil protection training maneuver concluded today in Villasimius, promoted by the Territorial Coordination of Civil Protection Volunteer Organizations of Cagliari, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Civil Protection. Started on Friday, the initiative saw the participation of 26 organizations who took the opportunity to celebrate today, on the closing day, the thirtieth anniversary of the CROV volunteer organization of Villasimius.

The main objectives of the training activity were to test safety in the context of civil protection activities, logistics, search for missing persons, first aid, radio communications, forest firefighting and first aid operations. Specifically, the first day was dedicated to setting up the rescuers' base camp, with a secretariat, a kitchen, a radio room and a "three arches" tent, where the coordination center was established.

During the second day, ample space was given to issues related to the safety of civil protection volunteers during various types of emergencies. In the morning, an initial fire was simulated, extinguished by the AIB teams, the rescue of some volunteers who were intoxicated by the smoke and the search for a missing operator with the teams assisted by the dog teams. In the afternoon, however, activities were carried out with equipment related to hydrogeological risk, simulating an emptying procedure with motor pumps and water pumps.

In the last part of the day we dedicated ourselves to training, with officials from the General Directorate of Civil Protection explaining to the volunteers the Consolidated Law on safety and the new regional radio system.

Today the debriefing on the three days and, in conclusion, the greetings from the authorities and the celebrations for the 30 years of the CROV of Villasimius.
