New rules in Cagliari for the circulation of scooters. The announcement is made by the mayor Paolo Truzzu after the approval of the council.

There is a ban on parking and circulation on pavements and in the opposite direction, while transit will be allowed on urban roads and in “zone 30” or, where present, on a cycle or pedestrian path.

The speed limit will be 25 km per hour on carriageways and 6 km on pedestrian areas and restricted traffic areas.

The sharing companies that guarantee the service must be able to automatically limit the speed in pedestrian areas and Ztl.

Parking is only allowed in the special spaces set up by the operators according to the indications of the administration and it will not be possible to park in the stalls reserved for cars, motorcycles and bicycles.

In the next few days an expression of interest will be announced which will establish the rules for participation of the various subjects.

"In a couple of months - explains Truzzu - we will have the scooters back in the city, with more order, safety and clear rules for everyone".
