Plastic bottle caps, burst balloons, fragments of containers, pieces of netting. Trash. Yet, when expertly arranged, they transform into artistic compositions. To mark its 25th anniversary, the Ceas Lago Baratz of the Municipality of Sassari is presenting the photography exhibition "Apparently" by artist Ivano Piva in the Sala Duce of the Palazzo Ducale. The exhibition will open on October 28th and will be open until October 31st and from November 3rd to 5th, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The works on display are essential images, immortalizing plastic waste collected on beaches. The photographs highlight the contrast between its obvious threat to the environment and the apparent harmlessness it assumes when transformed into artistic subjects. The exhibition features simple yet powerful photographic prints, designed to raise public awareness of waste collection and promote greater environmental awareness. The photographs will be accompanied by a selection of objects displayed in an unconventional way, offering a direct glimpse into what is abandoned.

The materials on display come from human activities both on land and at sea: nets, fishing gear, and other non-degradable marine waste, especially plastic, which storm surges carry and deposit along the coasts.

The photographer himself, Ivano Piva, will accompany visitors and classes through the exhibition, explaining both the technical aspects of the photographs and the educational message underlying the entire initiative.
