News expected by the citizens of Sassari for almost two years: the roundabout between via Milano, via Rizzeddu and via Rockefeller will finally be completed. The municipal council approved this yesterday.

The provision, commissioned by the mayor Nanni Campus and by the IV Commission for Public Works chaired by Manuel Alivesi , unlocks a stall for a fundamental work in one of the busiest routes in the city because it is a hub for arriving at INPS, schools and structures sanitary facilities of the former mental hospital in Rizzeddu.

The € 182,234 intervention is financially covered by the current budget. This is the second executive excerpt of the works that bring the overall total to 335 thousand euros, with an increase of 30 thousand euros compared to the initial forecast.

The work for the construction of the roundabout had begun at the end of May 2020 but, after not even a month, the works had been interrupted. The Municipality then terminated the contract due to serious breach of the contracted company (Rimac).

A few months ago the Municipality proceeded to rebuild a part of the demolished wall of the former asylum according to the indications of the Superintendency. Now the go-ahead for the completion of the roundabout which will eliminate traffic lights and streamline traffic.
