The Undersecretary of Health, Andrea Costa, will be in Sassari on Thursday 21 July for a visit to the laboratories of the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Sardinia.

After the trip to Brussels, with the direction of the Institute, to negotiate the end of the embargo on pork, the government representative will enter the laboratories and construction site of the new pole which will be built in a few months, and which will host an Academy regional specialist in veterinary and health training.

The institute recently launched a strategic plan dedicated to quality training and research, which is divided into some fundamental points: the development of new approaches to public health governance that foster new relationships; the strengthening and relaunching of the national reference centers; the development of research and training activities through the design of a regional or national "academy"; the enhancement of the direct production activity carried out by the IZS and of the entire connected industrial chain (in particular the animal housing vaccines); the development of diagnostic processes aimed at environmental sustainability; the optimization of organization and governance, promoting a professional and managerial culture oriented towards change.
