The Carabinieri conducted a weekend of operations in Sassari , arresting three people. In one case, a man was arrested for escaping from his home. He had also tampered with an electronic monitoring device fitted to him. Another person was arrested for assaulting security guards in the emergency room of a provincial hospital. Finally , a young man was arrested for attempted extortion, stalking , and assaulting a peer with a weapon. But the military's investigation doesn't end there.
Ten individuals were reported at large, two of whom were charged with theft from commercial establishments, and two others with domestic violence. In the first case, a man violently entered the home of his ex-partner; in the second, the man physically and verbally assaulted his ex-wife, who was with her minor children. Finally, two men were reported for armed assaults on a neighbor, allegedly involving the use of a narrow street .
At the end of the Carabinieri operations, the following weapons were found and seized: 1 cutter complete with blade, 1 axe with a wooden handle, 1 truncheon, 3 billhooks, 1 ice axe hammer, 1 1.250 kg mallet and 2 pruning shears.
As for the Ecological Operations Unit, two individuals were reported as part of inspections aimed at protecting the environment and combating environmental changes in the area. The Carabinieri's intervention was prompted by the discovery that the two had created a pair of unauthorized landfills for special waste, some of it hazardous.
The weekend's workload also included traffic-related work, which resulted in four violations for drunk driving, resulting in the revocation of eight driving licenses and the seizure of seven vehicles. Thirty-two fines were issued for traffic violations.
