The 64-year-old who lured the Carabinieri into a trap in the Tramentu district last Tuesday will remain in prison in Bancali.

In his building he had prepared a contraption with a wireless device and two cylinders, with which he had saturated the environment with gas.

A mechanism that could have exploded with tragic consequences. In the hearing, defended by the lawyer Antonella Chirigoni, the man admitted his paternity of what he had done but that he had never intended to detonate the system he had prepared.

The 64-year-old claims to feel persecuted by the Carabinieri and, just two weeks ago, was sentenced to 9 months in prison and a 3,500 euro fine for damaging the plaque dedicated to the Carabinieri soldier Walter Frau, murdered in 1995 in Pedesemene, together with his colleague Ciriaco Carru, in an ambush by a gang of bandits.

Three years ago, when he destroyed the monument, he also wrote a series of threatening phrases on the walls of the town, aimed specifically at the carabinieri.

Judge Sergio De Luca ordered the precautionary custody in prison and validated the arrest, while the prosecutor was Lara Senatore.
