A grieving and still dismayed crowd in Sassari for the funeral of Claudio Rais , 37, swimming champion , who died last Tuesday in tragic circumstances .
A sober ceremony , with the church full of sunflowers, flowers loved by Claudio, and marked by the significant words of Fra' Isidoro , the Capuchin father who officiated the ceremony : «It wasn't you who made that gesture, it wasn't Claudio, it was that evil inside that did it".


Not even a year ago, it was the month of July 2022 , Claudio Rais exulted for the great result achieved in the supermaster swimming circuit : «Today I am the third national athlete in the m35 category as an overall score for 2022, therefore not only the response of a single race, but that of an entire season, and above all of a path of personal, professional and sporting growth that has brought me here. So many sacrifices, so much commitment, perseverance and patience ».
