The body found late in the evening last 12 January in Sassari, in an abandoned cottage in via Papa Giovanni XXIII, has been identified.

He is a 69-year-old Italian citizen, his body in an advanced state of decomposition and the absence of documents made it impossible to immediately identify the person's identity and the causes of death.

It was traced back thanks to the subsequent medical-legal investigations: the man died of natural causes, the Police let it be known that on the evening of January 12 he had intervened on the spot together with the Scientific.

The man's fingerprints matched those in law enforcement databases.

A passer-by who accidentally noticed the body was triggered the alarm by soliciting the intervention of the Police on the spot.
