Following the controversy surrounding the closure of the MasEdu school in Sassari, Daniele Dore, director of the Sironi Academy, has provided a clarification. This explanation appeared on the institution's website approximately 20 days after the incident that saw the intervention of the Carabinieri on Corso Pascoli, and the possibility of a public service interruption, after teachers and students found the gates locked and were unable to attend classes.

Dore retraces the history of the matter, maintaining that, in 2022, some laboratories had been moved to MasEdu, pending the opening of the Ex Ma-ter, and only as an "emergency and temporary solution." Since 2024, the director reports, the institute has had access to alternative spaces, and in January 2025, he and the president signed a provision closing MasEdu. They did so, Dore says, because problems with low temperatures and water supplies had been reported by students and professors.

The Academic Council shortly thereafter established that students could use the building "at their own risk" while awaiting the move to the new spaces . The director stated that he had maintained a dialogue with all academic stakeholders during this period and that the decisions made were the result of a shared process.

In October, the "Spaces, Schedules, and Teaching Assignments" Committee was formed, which among other things compiled a report on the spaces. It requested a measure to lift the closure, but the director and president confirmed the suspension. The faculty did not formally request the facility by the end of October, but they stated that the director and the academic council "must assume full responsibility for the use of the MasEdu spaces."

Then came the November 11th incident, with a report filed, and Dore was keen to clarify that access to the facility had never been completely prohibited but that "the only use suspended was ordinary and continuous educational use."

Finally, he calls for a discussion with the teachers, but one that "is based on real documents, actions, and responsibilities, and not on partial narratives or rumors that only risk harming the institution and, first and foremost, its students."
