Sassari, stop to racing and motorcycle stunts, 20 minors fined

Piazzale Segni, in Sassari , transformed into a racing circuit. It was the agents of the local police, under the command of Gianni Serra, who put a stop to the behavior of dozens of young people who for a couple of weeks had been running around on motorbikes all night long, even doing stunts on a wheel, making life impossible of residents and risking causing accidents.

After a series of stakeouts with cameras too - to document the infractions - the police intervened in force on Tuesday night. They identified the drivers of about twenty cars and motorcycles contesting the violations.

The pecuniary sanctions amounted to a total of 2,848 euros, an uninsured motorcycle was seized, a suspension from circulation was ordered, and the vehicles were detained for 1,050 days.

The boys arrested are all minors, for which the parents have been contacted who will answer for the sanctions inflicted.

This morning the commander Gianni Serra provided all the details of the local police operation and underlined the dangerousness of the young people's conduct: «We carry out an information campaign on legality in schools throughout the year. It is important that children understand the dangers of certain actions. The risks of accidents and damage to others and to oneself are high».
