She is blind, he has Asperger's syndrome. But when Rossella Boettu and Vittorio Deriu, both from Sassari, dance as a couple, the limits disappear. "We started dancing together a few months ago - explains the 24-year-old - but there is already a great feeling between us and now we will participate in the Italian Paralympic championships in Rimini".

Rossella lost her sight in 2018 after seven surgeries in nine months for retinal detachment. "It was terrifying, I thought my life was over." And instead he reacts by learning to do everything again, including the sculpture works, his address in the Sassari art school, and those dances, first practiced in groups and now in pairs, thanks to the Master International Dance School of Valeria Pittalis. "Vittorio - reports his mother Lorena - suffered from depression and bullying and for over a year he never left home". But he too does not give up. «I asked Rossella - says the 18-year-old - to dance together. I wanted to get involved and it still gives satisfaction to dance with her ». «He is an excellent guide - replies the girl - and on stage I never feel alone».
