A total of 1,300 kilos of waste were collected yesterday on Porto Ferro beach . The initiative, promoted by Plastic Free together with the Bonga Surf School , allowed four large bags of microplastics to be "packaged" and, in the nearby dunes, five bags of glass, six bags of plastic, and 29 bags of unsorted waste.

Led by representatives of the Plastic Free association Martina Marongiu, Roberto Manca, and Serena Solinas, and attended by city councilor Angelo Azara, over 60 participants were involved, including at least 15 children under 11.

Tourists and residents also joined in a collective effort to clean up the area. After the work, lunch was served at the "Piccoli Passi Coop" bar, which offered a drink to each volunteer. The event was sponsored by the Municipality of Sassari, which handled waste disposal today.
