Two years of technical and operational training sessions for the Sassari local police. The course lasted 160 hours and concluded a few days ago.

It is taught by an exceptional instructor like Giancarlo Candiano Tricasi, who boasts extensive experience in operational training for police and military forces.

In particular, he worked in foreign military special forces, receiving, among other things, two gold medals of merit for several important counter-terrorism operations.

The operational techniques learned by the Sassari Local Police, as reported on the Blu Locale social media profile, "do not increase the intensity of interventions, but quite the opposite: they allow critical situations to be managed with greater professionalism, reducing the use of force and limiting the risk of errors, injuries, and unforeseeable consequences."

The lessons learned from Candiano thus enable officers to address critical situations that are increasingly common in the city. "We try to provide training in all areas of activity," says Sassari Local Police Commander Gianni Serra, "which are particularly broad and complex, from environmental policing to building policing to judicial policing."

Since 2017, with the Security Decree, the legislature has assigned specific responsibilities in the field of urban security. "It's a term that encompasses many activities, from the prevention of predatory crimes to crimes against property and persons, to activities aimed at preserving urban decay, strengthening decorum, and ensuring legality in the areas," Serra continues. "And so," he concludes, "local police are increasingly engaged, especially in community-based activities, which means a qualified presence in neighborhoods with the aim of strengthening both actual security and the perception of security."
