The charge was serious: possession and distribution of child pornography with the aggravating circumstance of recidivism. According to the Sassari prosecutor's office, a 67-year-old resident of the capital of Turritano had downloaded onto his cell phone, in 2020, about 40 images depicting almost naked minors, a video with a little girl without underwear, also sending, on one occasion, one of the photos to another person on Whatsapp.

But the outcome of the expert assessment ordered by Judge Antonio Spanu reported that, only in four cases, the certainty of voluntary downloading was ascertained.

At the end of today's discussion, in court in Sassari, the prosecutor had therefore requested four years of imprisonment for the man. Carlotta Pilo, defense attorney, instead focused on the factor of involuntary nature, asking for acquittal for her client.

At the end of the Council Chamber the judge's sentence was six months with the conditional suspension of the sentence and without considering the recidivism. In 90 days the reasons for the sentence.
