Another step forward in the construction of the Sassari-Olbia, the four-lane road divided into 10 lots with an itinerary that extends for approximately 80 kilometers and which, once completed, will represent the main artery connecting the western and eastern coasts of the north Sardinia.

The Pessina Costruzioni spa company has been proceeding, since this morning, with the positioning of five beams in the viaduct of lot 2, works that will allow the central axis to be opened and in a few months the entire road will be covered. It is a twelve kilometer route that from the crossroads joins the Ardara crossroads, the area that leads to the Ozieri plain. Anas' timetable foresees the completion of the works by 2024.

The new Sassari-Olbia route is nothing more than the adaptation of the existing network, made up of state roads 199 and 597, both with two lanes. Once completed, it will connect the main cities of the north of the island - Sassari, Porto Torres, Tempio and Olbia -, as well as connecting the arteries with the state roads 131 "Carlo Felice", 131 Dcn and 125 "Orientale Sarda".
