The big branches of the trees in Piazza Puccini in Sassari , in the populous Latte Dolce district, now fall like cherries.

Tonight yet another branch came off and, luckily, there was no one underneath, much less cars. The latest collapse took place on 25 July , when the tragedy touched on the morning: the big branch had crushed a parked car.

The municipality of Sassari has always maintained that the intervention competence lies with Area, which owns the adjacent public housing. In the meantime, however, the collapses follow one another and it has been a real fortune that so far no one has been hurt, given that the square is also very busy.

"We cannot continue to challenge luck - says Gianluigi Onida , member of the Latte Dolce and Santa Maria di Pisa neighborhood committee -. It is truly unheard of that so far no one has intervened. Sooner or later some branch will fall on someone's head" .

The collapses of branches in Piazza Puccini have been repeatedly reported to the City Council by the head of the Psd'az Group Mariolino Andria. "So far my appeals have also fallen on deaf ears - comments the latter - A situation bordering on the grotesque, but above all very dangerous".
