Nine months after his attack, Arnaldo Sergio Serra died. He was shot in Sassari on the night of May 28th on Via Kennedy in the Latte Dolce neighborhood . The 46-year-old died at the Mater Olbia hospital, where he had been hospitalized for some time in serious condition.

According to the reconstruction made at the time, the man had gotten into an altercation with a 45-year-old man, and words quickly escalated into action. Serra then fell to the ground, hitting his head hard and losing consciousness .

The investigation was conducted by local police officers and the 45-year-old , who appeared with his lawyers shortly after the incident, was charged with attempted murder .
